Mosavia springs from the wealth of time. When I moved to Canada in 1999 and while waiting for material with which to continue sculpting as well as my permanent residency papers, I began to study graphic art by reading books and visiting hundreds of websites dedicated to the topic.
During this process, I became increasingly interested in the value of this medium, seeing it for the art form that it is. I have since worked extensively as a freelance graphic and layout artist while continuing my sculpting projects.
Mosavia is a series of paintings created in a digital environment and based on imaginary characters existing in their own time/space continuum.

Going back to around 1995, on a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, though a friend, I was introduced to the epoxy-putty material commonly used only for industrial purposes. I was told that this technique spread from Brazil through all of South America in the ‘70s. This material was used by urban artisans making necklaces, pipes, earrings, etc. to be sold on the streets to tourists.
Since then I have been using this material as a main component of my creations, discovering integration with other elements such as wood, clay, bronze, and cement.
For years I have exhibited in Mexico and Canada but it was only in December, 1999 that I sold this material for first time as a fine art piece.
